War on the Home Front
September 29, 2005 —Janet Parshall It was a very interesting weekend in Washington. Two rallies took place--each trying to send a message to the Bush administration on the war in Iraq. At an "anti-war" event on Saturday, attendees heard speakers representing everything from gay rights to communism. But if someone wanted a clear message on Iraq, they would have been disappointed. Shouting from the platform, speakers talked about freeing Cuban prisoners, or creating Palestine from the "river to the sea" (which would mean the destruction of all of Israel) and several called for the impeachment of President Bush. But no one recounted the butchering done by Saddam Hussein or the elections that took place. The other event on Sunday spoke with eloquence of the sacrificing of our troops and the mission they want to accomplish. A woman spoke in support of the president who had lost her son in the same skirmish that took the life of Cindy Sheehan's son. These two events underscore the cultural warfare that is occurring not in Iraq but here at home. Listen Now http://www.beyondthenewsmail.com/ebthteu_oviivpip.html
